MISSION STATEMENT

Light in the Window is a Therapeutic Residential Centre established to provide services to male survivors of trauma.

STATEMENT OF NEED

The need for such services came from the knowledge that there are very limited resources for male survivors of trauma and in some communities such services are non-exsistant.

Substance abuse is one coping strategy that many survivors of trauma utilize.  Therefore, it is imperative to address substance abuse issues along side of survivor issues.

Survivors are faced with difficult issues as a result of trauma.  Some of the issues are low self-esteem, self imposed social isolation, depression, anger, anxiety, boundary issues, and shame to name only a few.
